Jehovah-Jireh
Jehovah-Jireh Food and Clothing Ministry is our ongoing outreach ministry in partnership with our neighbors at Saint Paul AME Zion Church. In 2006, we moved to a larger space next to St. Paul's church and this ministry continues to grow. We provide church funds for rental expenses; some parishioners provide food, clothing and cash donations; and others volunteer to help with sorting, stocking and staffing the store on Saturday mornings. In addition to providing food and clothing, we have started to stock basic school suplies throughout the school year.
Clients are offered information and referrals to Good Neighbors (for needs such as emergency financial assistance) as well as other agencies for legal assistance, mental health care and health services. Upon request, we also offer spiritual counseling and prayer. Last summer the Sunday school youth presented 35 bag lunches which were handed out to clients and delivered to some of the local "shut-ins."
